Every bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with tiled floors adding to the coolness in summer. All units are air-conditioned, and all windows have mosquito nets.

Safari-tented camp offers a very comfortable alternative for the nature lover. From waking up with the early morning bird calls to sitting under the stars at night, while still in the comfort of the necessary amenities.

The camp has a large thatched roof entertainment area with kitchen, bar counter and dining area, with a social braaiplace under shady Marula trees.

The camp consists of 3 safari tents sleeping 4 people each. All tents have fans, en-suite bathrooms and mosquito nets for every bed

Location

Ponta Torres – Nhonguane Lodge LDA is located 3km from Santa Maria village, along the esteemed Machangulo Peninsula.

The lodge is situated along the beach of the Maputo Bay, a 10min walk from the channel separating the Machangulo Peninsula from Inhaca Island.

Facing west you can enjoy beautiful sunsets over the bay while enjoying a sundowner at the Lodge’s Beach Bar.

Activities

As well as aquatic activities the area has beautiful coastal forest, and mangrove swamps to explore, with Santa Maria village a fusion of African and Portuguese

There is excellent deep sea fishing off the Santa Maria reef only 4km offshore. Hells Gate Channel, offers excellent surf; and fly -fishing for Kingfish, Bonefish and various other game fish species.

The area has excellent bird watching as this is the most southerly area for some rare bird species.
The calm bay water is becoming increasingly popular for sea kayaking, kite surfing, windsurfing, and Jet ski’s.
Just a few minutes’ walk down the beach is a snorkeling spot as well as the snorkeling marine sanctuary across the Channel and is accessible by boat.

• Self-drive (4×4 only) through beautiful un-spoilt Elephant Reserve.
• Fly to Maputo – transfer by boat to camp.
• Fly from Maputo to Inhaca island – transfer by boat to camp.
• Ferry from Maputo to Inhaca island – transfer by boat to camp.
